Awesome Breakfasts near your Greenway Plaza Apartments

  |     |   Uncategorized

Your favorite community of apartments in Upper Kirby is back with another informative blog posts for our residents. This week, we’re talking brunch. No meal captures the feeling of a weekend quite like brunch, because when you’re eating brunch, you have no cares.

There are tons of awesome brunch spots near Metropole apartments in Greenway Plaza, and we’re going to highlight four of them in this week’s post. You’ll find down home southern cooking, cute little cafes and a whole lot more in the Greenway Plaza brunch scene.

Check out the blog below, and be sure to share this post with your friends and neighbors at Metropole.

Kolache Shoppe

Any true Texan has tried their fair share of Kolaches over the years. This part of Texas is filled with Kolache shops, and everybody has their own personal preference. We would like to steer you towards Kolache Shoppe, because we think it’s the best, most convenient option for our residents.

Most people order kolaches based on the filling. When you order a sausage and jalapeno kolache, you look forward to the spicy combination of meat and pepper. However, the dough is the true hero of the kolaches at Kolache Shoppe. It’s perfectly flaky, slightly chewy, and totally worth the short drive from Metropole apartments. We recommend some of the breakfast options such as potato and egg or spinach, cheese and egg.

Grace’s

Some weekends, you wake up craving a southern style brunch. Nothing beats the greasy, flavorful, oftentimes fried food that’s typical of most southern style brunches. If this description has you already thinking about your next brunch, make plans to go to Grace’s this weekend.

For the best experience, try any of Grace’s fried chicken dishes. If that’s not your thing, go for the shrimp and grits. Try to grab a spot on the sprawling outdoor patio. Houston is finally cooling down and this weather is perfect for outdoor brunching. We’ve heard nothing but terrific reviews of the waitstaff and hosts, so prepare for a friendly, down-home country meal at Grace’s.

American Essence Cafe

Sometimes, the simplest restaurants are the most enjoyable. American Essence Cafe is a simple breakfast/lunch spot, but the lack of frills makes it a pleasant place in which to enjoy your breakfast or pop in for a quick lunch. All the breakfast items on the menu are available for less than $6, which is practically unheard of for a restaurant in the middle of the city. Due to it’s location, American Essence Cafe does get pretty busy most days. However, the staff is well-trained and usually handles crowds with ease. Don’t let a long line dissuade you from trying American Essence Cafe!

Liberty Kitchen & Oysterette

If you’re looking for a hearty brunch spot, look no further than Liberty Kitchen. Few brunch dishes in Houston will fill you up like Liberty’s egg benedict with braised pork belly. The biscuits at Liberty are another must-try item, as they’re perfectly flaky without being the kind that fall apart too easily. If you want to try something a little outside-the-box, go with the Coop burger. It’s a hamburger, but unlike any we’ve ever seen before. We’ll leave it at that.

With that, we’ve reached the end of the Metropole Brunch Blog. We appreciate those of you who came back to read the second edition of our bi-monthly blog series. If you enjoyed this blog and want to read more like it, check this page again in a couple weeks when our next post goes live. While you wait for that, be sure to follow Metropole on social media so you can stay in-the-know about all the exciting things happening at our Greenway Plaza apartments.
