Without further delay, let’s dive right into this week’s blog post. When you get done with the post, please be sure to share the link with your friends and neighbors in your community of apartments in Greenway Plaza!
Start being mindful
The more you can avoid stress, the better you’ll feel. One way to alleviate stress is to start meditating whenever possible. Even 10-minutes per day of meditation can have a big impact. We recommend setting aside time during lunch or waking up a little earlier than usual to make time. Meditating is hard at first and a little annoying, but you’ll get better at it and your stress levels will drop. Give it a shot, folks!
Change the way you think about workouts
We all want to be the type of person that wants to workout, but some people just aren’t programmed that way. If you find yourself dreading your workouts, try thinking about them differently. Instead of pretending you want to workout, start thinking about the gym as a need – like water or food. The less you can think about the gym as an optional endeavor, the more likely you’ll be to go every day no matter what.
Start a gratitude list
A gratitude list is nothing more than a list of things you’re thankful for. Studies have shown that being grateful is one of the best ways to improve overall happiness. You can start your gratitude list tonight by writing down 5 things that you’re grateful for. If you want to take it a step further, try also writing down 5 things that you accomplished that day. The key to this exercise is doing it every day until you start to become more grateful and more appreciative of the things you can accomplish.
Try doing shorter workouts
High Intensity interval Training (HIIT) is a great exercise option for people who don’t have time for lengthy workouts. And really, who does have time to spend an hour and a half in the gym? HIIT workouts demand more of you, but it’s for a shorter period of time. You’ll be able to see results faster, so long as you’re willing to work as hard as you can for a half-hour instead of working half as hard for an hour and a half.
