The most resident-friendly community of apartments in Upper Kirby is here to help you find your new go-to restaurant! We’ve got new restaurants popping up every day, but it’s hard to know which ones are good and which ones are duds.

Lucky for you, we’ve taken the time to review some of the most popular new restaurants in the area. Check out the blog below, and figure out which one sounds like your new go-to spot! Spicy Girl

Houston has no shortage of szechuan-style Chinese restaurants, but that doesn’t mean we don’t need another one! This place has some of the spiciest food out of all the szechuan restaurants, which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your heat-tolerance.  We recommend the fried green beans to start, then you might want to check out the flavor pepper chicken for something a little more filling.

The plates come out looking gorgeous, but this place is a little pricey. If you feel like paying for high quality food, however, we think you’ll have a good time at Spicy Girl.

The French Fry House

The food at French Fry House is positively bursting with flavor. This is the kind of food you want to enjoy on a cheat day, or after you haven’t eaten all day. It’s incredibly unhealthy, but it’s absolutely phenomenal. Try the buffalo chicken fries, the garlic parmesan fries, the Philly cheese steak fries or the Bayou fries. As you can see, this is basically French fry heaven.

All you have to do is look through some of the pictures on Yelp, and you’ll be convinced to check this place out. Here’s a link to those pics. Don’t drool on your keyboard!

Christian’s Tailgate

This is one of the best places in the neighborhood for watching sports. You’ll get to enjoy well-made burgers that have fresh toppings, and the screens are big enough to see the game from anywhere. It’s a casual place where you order food from a counter and wait for it to come out, but that doesn’t take away from the quality of the food whatsoever. Christian’s also has a beautiful patio out front with tables and umbrellas. Here’s hoping the weather warms up so you can check it out!

Moxie’s Grill and Bar

This place is about as new as it gets. It opened about a month and a half ago. Moxie’s is beautiful, featuring a huge patio, indoor second-level seating and awesome views. The service is impeccable as well. This is the kind of restaurant you go to when you’re ready to have an awesome night out. Moxie’s have an extensive cocktail menu, a DJ, and a fun, festive atmosphere.

If you’re coming here to eat, we recommend the lobster and shrimp linguine. It’s not the cheapest thing on the menu, but it might be the best tasting. This is mostly a seafood restaurant, so their other options include fish tacos, spicy tuna rolls and red thai curry with shrimp. If seafood is your thing, Moxie’s is a must.
