Decorating Tips for your Apartments in Upper Kirby

  |     |   Uncategorized

Quick — picture your ideal apartment. Does it look like your current apartments in Greenway Plaza? If not, it might be time to redecorate. Apartment decorating is all about making use of space, and there are a few rules that you should always follow that will help you maximize space. In this week’s blog, we’re going to be telling you about a few of those rules, and giving you a few other tips to work with as well. By the time you’re done reading this post, you’ll be prepared to spend the weekend redecorating your apartments!

Check out the list of tips below, and be sure to share this post with your friends and neighbors at your apartments in Upper Kirby!

Rule #1 — Avoid clutter at all costs

This rule applies to every aspect of your apartment decor, from the art on the walls to the furniture selection. If you have to decide between one large piece and multiple small pieces, always go with the former. Larger pieces make statements, while smaller pieces usually just make your space feel cramped and cluttered. Instead of getting a couch and a couple;le chairs, get a sectional sofa. Instead of buying multiple framed pictures to hang in your living room, invest in one large piece of art instead.

Rule #2 — Don’t underestimate the power of lighting

Pay close attention to the natural and artificial lighting in your home, because it can have a noticeable effect on the look of your apartment. Don’t forget to invest in plenty of lamps when you’re decorating your place, and try to find low-wattage bulbs that give off soft light. Everything looks better in soft light. Of course natural light is the ideal light source, so make sure you’re not blocking any windows with your furniture.

Rule #3 — Quality is almost always worth the extra cost

You might think you’re saving money when you buy that $200 couch, but you won’t feel that way if a leg breaks off in 9 months. You obviously don’t want to go overboard when paying for furniture, but you should be willing to pay for quality instead of just buying the cheapest couch at the furniture store. If you really want to save money, look for high-end pieces on craigslist. You won’t pay top-dollar for them, but you’ll still get sturdy construction and strong materials.

Here’s, an extra tip — measure your apartment dimensions and write it down

We can’t even tell you how many times this will come in handy. Measure everything once, write it down, and keep the dimensions somewhere safe. Better yet, take a picture of the measurements with your phone. Next time you randomly see a nice piece of furniture at the store, you’ll instantly know whether or not it will fit in your apartment. Oh, and don’t forget to measure your doorway!

With that, we’ve reached the end of our apartment decor blog. We hope you’re able to use some of these tips to turn your apartment into the home of your dreams! If you do decide to redecorate, feel free to share the final results with us on social media!
